Professor Edwin Odhuno

Professor Edwin Odhuno has combined managerial and academic experience spanning three decades and three continents. He attained managerial experience with Marriott International Inc, in the United States of America. After he obtained his PhD in Hospitality Human Resource Management, which was financed by Marriott International, he returned to Kenya and joined Maseno University. At Maseno University he headed the Department of Hotel and Institutional Management for over ten years.
Professor Edwin Odhuno was the first principal of the American Hospitality Academy International Hotel Management Schools in Brasov, Romania.
From Romania he briefly worked as the Director of Academic Affairs at Kampala International University in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. From there he joined Mount Kenya University and was initially appointed Associate Dean in the School of Business and Public Management before becoming Dean, School of Business and Economics, presently.
Professor Edwin Odhuno’s research interests and peer reviewed publications are in the areas of performance management, competitive strategies, performance evaluation and organizational behavior. He has authored one book entitled “Hospitality Organizational Behaviour.”
Professor Odhuno has supervised over 50 post-graduate students including two at Ph.D level.
